China now third largest tourism destination

China National Tourism Administration Director of the International Coordination Department Man Hongwei stated China has overtaken Spain as the third largest tourism destination with China reporting a 9.4% year-on-year increase in international arrivals to 55.7 million in 2010 (China Business News, 11-Apr-2011). China's third position follows that of France with 79.0 million arrivals and the US with 60.9 million arrivals.
