Cargo market remains positive but economic uncertainties persist: IATA

IATA stated current conditions in the cargo markets remain positive despite rising uncertainties about the economic outlook. IATA concedes that the environment will become increasingly more difficult with air freight now entering a slower phase of expansion, but adds the pace of growth in both volumes and yields remains above trends while cargo profitability, in many regions, is back to pre-recession levels. According to IATA, economic growth is likely to continue to be very unbalanced with monetary policies remaining loose and fiscal policies constraining growth in Europe and the US while the outlook for emerging economies remains positive.
