Canada prepared to close UAE military base rather than grant UAE carriers additional landing rights

Canada's Defence Minister Peter MacKay stated the country is prepared to close its military base in the United Arab Emirates as opposed to agreeing to demands for more Canadian landing rights for UAE airlines (The National/Canadian Press/Bloomberg, 13-Oct-2010).
