Ningxia Cargo Airlines receives CAAC approval

CAAC announced (25-May-2015) approval for the establishment of Ningxia Cargo Airlines, marking the first cargo carrier based in West China, adding the start-up has file an application with CAAC Southwest Regional Administration for a public air operator's certificate. Details include:

  • Capital: Registered capital of CNY120 million (USD18.8 million), in which Shan'xi Tongyang Investment Management has a 53% stake, Xi'an Huijie Logistics Co has a 44% stake and Shannxi Xiangyu Logistics Co, Shanghai Chongda International Freight Co, and Shan'xi International Air Freight will hold the remainder;
  • Management: Shen Huawei, the former Shannxi International Freight GM, will be the start-up's legal representative and president;
  • Base: Yinchuan Hedong Airport;
  • Business scope: Licensed to operate domestic cargo and mail transportation (including Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau), using Boeing 737-300 freighters;
  • Fleet: Approved to purchase three 737-300Fs (B-2954, B-2949, B-2584) from Zhejiang Loong Airlines. Furthermore, CAAC has approved the painting plan of the aircraft;
  • Signed an agency agreement on ground services with China West Airport Group and Ningxia air traffic control station of Air Traffic Management Bureau of CAAC agreed to provide civil aviation communication, meteorology and flight information for the airline;
  • ICAO and the Air Traffic Management Bureau of CAAC assigned "HTK" code and "Lingbird" as English radio call sign for the airline; while it will employ "HT" code;
  • Recruited 10 pilots, 17 maintenance staff, six flight dispatchers and seven welders for the initial operation. [more - original PR - Chinese]
