BTS announces largest y-o-y fall in Freight Transportation Services Index in 20 years

US Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) released (12-Nov-2009) its Freight Transportation Services Index (TSI), which reported the TSI fell 0.5% in Sep-2009 when compared to Aug-2009. On a year-on-year basis, the Freight TSI fell 9.9%, the largest September-to-September decline in the 20 years. Meanwhile, Passenger TSI fell 4.4%, the second largest September-to-September decrease in ten years. [more - Full report]
