Bratislava Airport pax down 11%, cargo reaches record high in 2012; Ryanair clear market leader
Slovakia's Bratislava Airport reported (06-Feb-2013) passenger numbers fell 11% year-on-year in 2012, reaching 1.4 million, while cargo volume continued to grow and reached a new all-time record of more than 22,500 tonnes. Aug-2012 was the busiest month for the airport with 233,170 passengers, with the busiest day on 05-Aug-2012 with 9486 passengers. Looking ahead to 2013, the airport expects stabilisation of passenger numbers due to a shift in the transfer of passengers from traditional carriers towards LCCs.
