Bombardier CSeries programme on track for 2013 delivery

Bombardier President Gary Scott confirmed the CSeries remains on track to commence delivery in 2013 (Bloomberg, 24-Sep-2010). The aircraft is in its detailed design phase, which will be completed in 2011. Bombardier believes that optimised fleets of new aircraft, such as the CSeries, will drive airline profitability through cost savings and revenue growth, and help enable new business models. The manufacturer is in advanced discussions with a "handful" of customers for the CSeries, with new orders expected to be finalised shortly.

Bombardier: "As a whole, airlines aren't making any money. That's not sustainable. The industry is struggling just to reach 2% of revenue. Optimised fleets … will drive airline profitability through cost savings and revenue growth, and help enable new business models," Gary Scott, President. Source: Bloomberg, 24-Sep-2010.
