Boeing forecasts demand for almost 5000 aircraft in Southeast Asia and Oceania

Boeing presented (18-Nov-2016) its Current Market Outlook for aircraft demand in the Southeast Asia and Oceania regions over the next 20 years. Boeing forecast:

  • Southeast Asia: 3860 new aircraft, valued at USD565 billion. Traffic growth of 6.4% p/a;
  • Oceania: 1020 new aircraft, valued at USD160 billion. Traffic growth of 4.7% p/a.

Boeing forecast more than 75% of the aircraft needed in both regions will be for narrowbody aircraft, as each region continues to see a rise in the number of LCCs as well as strong annual traffic.
