Boeing confirms Air India is interested in swapping some 787-8 orders for 787-9s

Boeing Commercial Airplanes senior VP of Asia Pacific & India Sales Dr Dinesh Keskar reported (26-May-2015) Air India's 20 787s "are providing them with superior performance, which has allowed them to open new routes and make progress in their turn-around plans". In regards to the airline potentially reviewing its orders, Dr Keskar confirmed it is talks with the carrier to swap some 787-8s for larger 787-9s. Air India is "very happy with their Dreamliners" commented Dr Keskar. Boeing's primary concern in the Indian market is fuel taxes at federal and state levels. [more - original PR]
