Boeing Commercial Airplanes deliveries up 11% over first nine months of 2014

Boeing Commercial Airplanes reported (22-Oct-2014) the following financial and operational highlights for the first nine months of 2014:

Financial highlights:

  • Revenue: USD43,151 million, +13%;
  • Earnings from operations: USD4,849 million, +13%;
  • Operating margin: 11.2%, flat reflecting the dilutive impact of 787 and 747-8 deliveries and higher period costs partially offset by the delivery volume and continued strong operating performance.

Operational highlights:

  • Deliveries: 528, +11% year-on-year (additional 52 aircraft);
  • Backlog: 5552 aircraft, valued at over USD430 billion;
  • Launched the 737 MAX 200 with a commitment from Ryanair for 100 aircraft;
  • Confirmed it intends to increase the 737 production rate from 42 to 47 per month in 2017, announcing plans during 3Q2014 to increase to 52 per month in 2018.
