Boeing applies another B787 production halt

Boeing confirmed it implemented a temporary halt to some B787 manufacturing from late Nov-2010 (speednews.com, 06-Dec-2010). The 16-working day adjustment covers loading of new aircraft into final-body join. This is the third manufacturing halt that Boeing has put in place for the programme this year. The halt will not affect supplier deliveries, which are expected to be maintained at present rates. Boeing has yet to finalise a new test and delivery schedule for the B787, following the recent grounding of a test aircraft after a fire in flight. The company has confirmed it will miss its planned mid-Feb-2011 delivery target to launch customer, All Nippon Airways.
