Australia's domestic pax numbers up 6% in Jun-2012, load factor stable

Australia’s Bureau of Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Economics (BITRE) reports (28-Aug-2012) the following traffic highlights for Australian domestic airlines in Jun-2012:

  • Passenger numbers: 4.4 million, +6.0% year-on-year;

      • Brisbane-Sydney: 340,677, -4.0%;
      • Brisbane-Melbourne: 245,784, +1.5%;
      • Gold Coast-Sydney: 168,493, +5.1%;
      • Melbourne-Perth: 167,476, +18.3%;
      • Adelaide-Melbourne: 164,629, +0.1%;
      • Perth-Sydney: 137,397, +8.6%;
      • Adelaide-Sydney: 130,120, +6.5%;
      • Gold Coast-Melbourne: 129,599, +13.8%;
      • Brisbane-Cairns: 100,058, +5.4%;
    • Load factor: 77.8%, +0.3 ppt;
      • Melbourne-Sydney: 77.1%, -1.8 ppts;
