Australia’s Bureau of Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Economics (BITRE) reports (30-Apr-2012) the following traffic highlights for Australian domestic airlines in Feb-2012:

  • Passenger numbers: 4.2 million, +4.7% year-on-year;
  • Top 10 domestic city pairs:

    • Brisbane-Sydney: 328,500, -2.4%;
    • Brisbane-Melbourne: 221,300, +5.5%;
    • Gold Coast-Sydney: 179,800, +2.4%;
    • Adelaide-Melbourne: 165,000, -5.3%;
    • Melbourne-Perth: 146,600, +10.6%;
    • Perth-Sydney: 136,000, +8.2%;
    • Adelaide-Sydney: 131,300, -3.3%;
    • Gold Coast-Melbourne: 130,200, +8.1%;
    • Hobart-Melbourne: 98,700, -3.3%;
  • Load factor: 74.2%, -1.4 ppts;
    • Melbourne-Sydney: 80.5%, -4.2 ppts;
