Australia’s Bureau of Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Economics (BITRE) reports (28-Oct-2013) the following traffic highlights for Australian domestic airlines in Aug-2013:

  • Passenger numbers: 4.9 million, +1.5% year-on-year;
  • Top ten domestic city pairs:

    • Brisbane-Sydney: 378,477, +0.3%;
    • Brisbane-Melbourne: 279,458, +2.7%;
    • Gold Coast-Sydney: 201,642, +3.5%;
    • Adelaide-Melbourne: 182,168, +7.1%;
    • Melbourne-Perth: 180,316, +1.5%;
    • Perth-Sydney: 142,662, -2.3%;
    • Adelaide-Sydney: 140,481, -0.9%;
    • Gold Coast-Melbourne: 136,778, -6.9%;
    • Hobart-Melbourne: 112,246, +21.4%;
  • Load factor: 76.6%, +0.6 ppt;
    • Melbourne-Sydney: 83.6%, +6.6 ppts;
