Australia’s Bureau of Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Economics (BITRE) reports (19-May-2011) the following traffic highlights for Australian domestic airlines in Mar-2011:

  • Passenger numbers: 4.6 million, +2.7% year-on-year;

    • Brisbane-Sydney: 370,542, +3.6%;
    • Brisbane-Melbourne: 243,529, +6.1%;
    • Adelaide-Melbourne: 208,119, +8.2%;
    • Gold Coast-Sydney: 189,018, -9.1%;
    • Melbourne-Perth: 162,610, +9.6%;
    • Adelaide-Sydney: 158,532, +1%;
    • Perth-Sydney: 144,338, +3.4%;
    • Gold Coast-Melbourne: 134,757, -6.5%;
    • Hobart-Melbourne: 115,210, +5.1%;
  • Load factor: 77.7%, -1.8 ppts;
