Australia's BITRE forecasts 4.2% rise in 2029/30 pax across capital city airports

Australia’s Bureau of Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Economics (BITRE) forecast (23-Apr-2010) the number of passenger movements through eight capital city airports to increase by 4.2% year over the forecast period to 235 million in 2029–30.

  • Passenger number forecast in 2029/30:
    • Total*: 235 million, +4.2% year-on-year;
      • Brisbane Airport: 51.2 million, +4.9%;
      • Perth Airport: 24.8 million, +4.7%;
      • Darwin Airport: 4.1 million, +4.4%;
      • Melbourne Airport: 57.7 million, +4.2%;
      • Sydney Airport: 72.9 million, +4%;
      • Adelaide Airport: 14.1 million, +3.5%;
      • Canberra Airport: 6.3 million, +3.5%;
