ASEAN Open Skies is not a perfect solution but an improvement: Royal Brunei Airlines

Royal Brunei Airlines deputy chairman Dermot Mannion, speaking at the CAPA Asia Aviation Summit, said (23-Nov-2015) ASEAN Open Skies is not a perfect solution, but is an improvement on the previous state of affairs. Mr Mannion said: "I think we'll have to go through a number of iterations of this before the ownership rules change… But we have more liberal access to the region than we did." Mr Mannion noted challenges remain, including capacity constraints at airports in Jakarta and Manila, which will limit further growth: "It took many many iterations for Europe to get it right and it will be exactly the same in this region… So lets make incremental progress and try and benefit from that."
