ANA to expand flight schedule for 2HFY2013, 787s to be deployed to Singapore, Shanghai, Jakarta
ANA Group stated (21-Aug-2013) is set to expand capacity on routes between Japan, Asia and North America in a modification to its international and domestic air transportation plan for 2HFY2013. This expansion will allow the airline to capitalise on the strong demand for travel to Japan and for service between Asia and North America, the carrier said. On international routes, ANA Group is preparing for the second round of additional takeoff and landing slots for international routes at Haneda Airport. In addition, the airline is increasing frequency on existing routes to North America and expanding supply capacity on Asian routes, in line with its strategy to absorb increasing demand for flights to Japan and flights between Asia and North America, transiting in Japan. 787-8 aircraft will be introduced on the following Asian routes:
- Tokyo Narita-Singapore: From 01-Oct-2013, 787-8 aircraft will be operated daily with 767-300ER aircraft also operating daily. Current the service is operated 14 times weekly using 767-300ER aircraft;
- Tokyo Haneda-Singapore: Seven times weekly with 787-8 aircraft from 27-Oct-2013, replacing daily 767-300ER aircraft;
- Tokyo Narita-Shanghai: Daily 787-8, 767-300ER and 777-300ER service (for three times daily operation) from 27-Oct-2013, replacing daily 777-200ER, 767-300ER and 777-300ER operations;
