American Airlines and Hainan Airlines sign codeshare

American Airlines and Hainan Airlines signed (07-Dec-2011) a codeshare agreement. The agreement, which is subject to government approval, will include frequent flyer programme (FFP) reciprocity and provide new growth opportunities for American in China and for Hainan Airlines in the US. The key elements of the American-Hainan agreement are:

• American Airlines codesharing on direct services operated by Hainan beyond Beijing, linking from American's Chicago-Beijing services;
• American Airlines codesharing on direct services operated by Hainan between Beijing and Seattle;
• Hainan Airlines codesharing on direct services operated by American beyond Seattle from Hainan's Beijing-Seattle services to American's domestic network;
• American Airlines codesharing on direct services operated by American between Shanghai and Chicago/Los Angeles and between Beijing and Chicago;
• Improvement in flight schedules and connection times;
