Alitalia launching Premium Economy offering
Alitalia reportedly plans to upgrade its onboard offering, as part of which it plans to add a Premium Economy cabin (21 seats, 2-3-2 layout, 120 degree angle of recline), entitled 'Classica Plus' from Jun-2010 (businesstraveller.com, 15-Mar-2010). 'Classic Plus' will intially be introduced on the carrier's new A330 fleet, which will enter the fleet this Summer (in Jul-2010 on the Milan Malpensa-Tokyo sector and on New York and Miami services in Aug-2010). The carrier is also rebranding its other class products: Economy class will be rebranded "Classica", short-haul Business will be named "Ottima" and long-haul Business will be referred to as "Magnifica." At present, Alitalia does not offer a First Class product.
