Alaska Airlines expects USD5m to USD10m impact from Delta's codeshare termination

Alaska Airlines confirmed (19-Dec-2016) its marketing and codeshare agreement with Delta Air Lines will end in 2017, noting the revenue and relevance of Delta's marketing and codeshare relationshiop has steadily declined since 2013. Alaska said both parties agreed to accelerate the termination of the agreement following its merger with Virgin America. The carriers' interline agreement still remains in place. Alaska projects an impact of USD5 million to USD10 million in 2017, but noted customer impact is expected to be minimal, citing its own network growth and ability to codeshare with other partners.
