Alaska Air Group reports USD5.3m net profit in 1Q2010
Alaska Air Group reports (22-Apr-2010) the following financial highlights for the three months ended 31-Mar-2010:
- Revenue: USD829.9 million, +11.8% year-on-year;
- Operating costs: USD803.9 million, +6.6%;
- Fuel: +31.5%;
- Operating profit (loss): USD26 million, compared to a loss of USD12 million in the corresponding period last year;
- Net profit (loss): USD5.3 million, compared to a loss of USD19.2 million in the corresponding period last year;
- Alaska Airlines:
- Revenue: USD737.6 million, +12.9% year-on-year;
- Operating costs: USD709.5 million, +7.6%;
- Fuel: +30.2%;
- Operating profit (loss): USD28.1 million, compared to a loss of USD6.3 million in the corresponding period last year;
- Passenger numbers: 3.6 million, +1.9%;
- Passenger load factor: 80.7%, +5.0 ppts;
- Yield (per RPM): +1.6%;
- Operating costs (Per ASM): +6.4%;
- Horizon Air:
- Revenue: USD158.4 million, +7.9% year-on-year;
- Operating costs: USD160 million, +5.3%;
- Fuel: +38%;
- Operating profit (loss): (USD1.6 million), compared to a loss of USD5.2 million in the corresponding period last year;
- Passenger numbers: 1.6 million, +2.5%;
- Passenger load factor: 71.4%, +4.8 ppts;
- Yield (per RPM): -0.2%;
