Airport scanners may be ‘dangerous’, states Johns Hopkins

US' Johns Hopkins University school of medicine scientist Dr Michael Love warned the full-body, graphic-image X-ray scanners sued to screen passengers and crew may be unsafe adding: "They say the risk is minimal, but statistically someone is going to get skin cancer from these X-rays" (AFP, 13-Nov-2010). Approximately 315 "naked" scanners are in use at 65 US airports.
