Airbus concerned over US dollar weakness

Airbus COO, Fabrice Bregier, stated the strength of the euro against the US dollar is making conditions for companies with costs in euros "increasingly difficult" (Reuters, 08-Oct-2009). The COO also commented that the only avenue for Airbus is to appeal to monetary authorities to seek stability in exchange rates. The comments echo similar concerns from EADS CEO, Louis Gallois, late last month. Mr Gallois said that the current exchange rates are "close to the limit" for the company.
