airberlin confirms plans for all-Airbus European fleet

airberlin confirmed (13-Nov-2014) plans to transition to an all-Airbus European fleet, which the carrier expects to complete by the end of 2016. The carrier currently has ten A321s on order and "will purchase further A320 aircraft on the market in addition to taking over 14 aircraft from another European airline." Airberlin CEO Wolfgang Prock-Schauer said: "The above mentioned uniform fleet will bring additional productivity, increased flexibility, and lower costs." [more - original PR]
