AirAsia X passenger numbers up 56% in 2Q2011

AirAsia X reports (19-Jul-2011) the following traffic highlights for the three months ended Jun-2011:

  • Passenger numbers: 0.6 million, +56% year-on-year;
  • Passenger traffic (RPKs): +66.6%;
  • Capacity (ASKs): +60.2%;
  • Passenger load factor: 79%, +4.0 ppts;
  • Cargo volume: 8998 tonnes, +68%. [more]

AirAsia X: "Our continued growth points to a clear positive demand trajectory for 2011 compared to 2010, despite the challenge of higher and more volatile fuel prices which has led to higher air fares. We are confident we will keep growing into the second half of 2011, especially now that we have recently been granted route approvals from the Government.
