AirAsia X has no plans to sell a stake in the carrier

AirAsia X CEO, Azran Osman-Rani, stated there are currently no plans to sell a stake in the carrier, confirming it is not actively looking for investors, as the airline does not require additional capital at present (Reuters, 12-Oct-2009). The LCC added it is not expecting to make a loss on 4Q2009, as its unit costs are still lower than competitors. Mr Osman-Rani stated that while 2Q2009 was the most difficult period for AirAsia X, with high pressure on yields and load factors, volumes picked up again in 3Q2009.

AirAsia X: "In the fourth quarter, we'll keep our heads above water. We don't expect to be in a loss-making position. Yields are still going to be pressured," Azran Osman-Rani, CEO. Source: Reuters, 12-Oct-2009.
