Air India and Dublin Airport Authority in talks on European base

Air India and Dublin Airport Authority (DAA) are reportedly in advanced talks for the carrier to make Dublin its new European hub for US-bound services (Irish Examiner, 29-May-2010). An announcement is expected to be made in a month. The carrier also considered Copenhagen, Vienna, Birmingham and Barcelona. The carrier would be based in Dublin Airport's Terminal 2, enabling passengers to clear US customs and immigration in Dublin. Frankfurt is Air India's present European base.
