Air France pilots approve expansion of Transavia France

Air France announced (03-Dec-2014) pilots represented by the Syndicat National des Pilotes de Ligne (SNPL) have approved its proposal for an expansion of its Transavia France low-cost arm. 81.39% of SNPL's Air France members took part in the ballot, with 59.8% of those voting approving the measure. The result now requires final approval from the SNPL's Union Council, which will meet on 04-Dec-2014. As a result of the vote, Transavia France's fleet will increase to 21 aircraft in summer 2015, with a target of 37 Boeing 737 aircraft by 2019. Integrated career management for pilots at Air France and Transavia will be introduced, including a joint seniority list. Air France chairman and CEO Frédéric Gagey said: "We welcome the positive outcome of this consultation which puts an end to a period of uncertainty. The majority of pilots have chosen to accompany us in our growth strategy on the low-cost market with Transavia." [more - original PR - English/French] [more - original PR - SNPL - French]
