Air France confirms plans to restructure point-to-point operations

Air France confirmed (28-Aug-2014) plans to restructure its point-to-point operations, with HOP! chairman and CEO Lionel Guérin to be appointed "project manager in charge of defining in detail and implementing this new unit grouping all the Air France Group's Point-to-Point activity (Air France Point-to-Point and HOP!)", effective 08-Sep-2014. The new proposal will be presented to staff and unions "by the end of October", which will "clarify the scope of each of the brands, align the key functions in defining the offer and customer experience and facilitate the global economic management of the activity in order to continue to guarantee a competitive cost structure." Air France chairman and CEO Frédéric Gagey said: "The Air France Group's Point-to-Point strategy must rely on a principle that is both simple and clear - each market requirement must be met by a specific commercial offer and an adapted economic model, whether in terms of costs or revenue. This new simplified organisation will enable the Air France Group to be more reactive and more in touch with its customers' expectations." [more - original PR - English/French]
