Air Costa: India is a different environment than 2011 when Kingfisher Airlines collapsed

Air Costa CFO Vivek Choudhary, speaking at CAPA's Airline Fleet & Finance Summit Asia, said (02-Mar-2015) India is a different environment than 2011 when Kingfisher Airlines collapsed, pointing to the response to SpiceJet in 2014. Mr Choudhary explained: "The kind of problems the lessors and banks faced in 2011, in 2014/15 it was a lot easier to repossess the aircraft and also the kind of government support that SpiceJet just got that Kingfisher didn't." Mr Choudhary added: "It shows the kind of measures taken by the regulator to improve the aviation industry in the country."
