Air Canada to offer inflight WiFi connectivity across fleet

Air Canada announced (09-Apr-2014) plans to offer inflight WiFi connectivity across its North American fleet in May-2014, under an agreement with Gogo. With two A319 aircraft already equipped for WiFi, the carrier plans to outfit its remaining A319, A320 and A321 and Embraer 190 aircraft, subject to a final agreement with Gogo. Air Canada Express Bombardier CRJ-705 and E175 aircraft will also be outfitted with Air-To-Ground WiFi connectivity. Installations will begin in May-2014 with an overall 29 aircraft to be equipped in 2014, while Air Canada plans to equip all designated 130 narrowbody aircraft by Dec-2015. The agreement will also provide for future type-testing of Gogo satellite solutions for WiFi on international services, with trials to take place in 2015.
