Aeroperlas ceases operations in Panama

Aeroperlas, a Panama City based unit of Avianca Taca Holding, announced its decision to cease operations in Panama as of 29-Feb-2012, as per the carrier's website. "The resolution is specific to particular market conditions and the business model of the airline," the carrier said. According to Innovata data, the carrier, prior to its suspension, operated services covering the following destinations (all domestic): Bocas Del Toro Airport, Changuinola Airport, Contadora Airport, David Enrique Malek Airport, Panama City Paitilla Airport and Panama City Tocumen International Airport, deploying over 6300 weekly seats across its network . It operated a fleet of two ATR 42-300s and 20 Cessna 208 Caravans.
