AENA accepting offers for duty-free licenses at 26 airports

Spain's AENA Airports announced (02-Jul-2012) it is accepting offers for licenses to operate duty-free shops at 26 of its airports, covering more than 80 outlets. The licenses run from early 2013 to 31-Oct-2020 in the Balearic Islands and the Spanish mainland and from between 2013 and 2016 to 31-Oct-2020 in the Canary Islands. AENA projects revenue from the licenses would reach EUR700 million p/a. AENA hopes to foster competition in duty-free at these airports, which were previously operated by Aldeasa and Dufry.
