Association of Asia Pacific Airlines (AAPA) reports (24-Aug-2011) the following international traffic highlights for its member airlines in Jul-2011:

  • Passenger numbers: 17.4 million, +5.2% year-on-year;
  • Passenger load factor: 81.2%, -0.3 ppt;
  • Cargo traffic (FTKs): -4%;
  • Cargo load factor: 66.9%, -2.9 ppts. [more]

AAPA: "Economic growth rates in Asia remain positive, but recent signs of a further slowdown in the US and Europe are a cause for concern, adding further uncertainty to the global outlook for the rest of the year. Notwithstanding the current challenges, optimism about future growth opportunities remains positive, and is underpinning ambitious fleet expansion plans, as well as the establishment of a number of new airlines, including international partnerships and joint ventures,” AAPA Director General, Mr, Andrew Herdman.
