British Airways confirms interest in acquiring bmi

British Airways CEO, Willie Walsh, confirmed the carrier is interested in acquiring bmi and has held talks with bmi's new owner, Lufthansa (Reuters, 16-Sep-2009). The German carrier has not yet decided what it wants to do with bmi, but has confirmed it is considering a number of different options. Lufthansa has reportedly received expressions of interest in bmi from 12 different airlines.
