American: Consolidation amongst small US carriers does not present ‘huge strategic change’

American Airlines CEO Doug Parker, speaking at the CAPA Aviation Summit 2016, stated (12-Apr-2016) consolidation is "done" for the hub and spoke networks, although "whether or not other transactions take place, I don't know." He said consoldiaiton amongst smaller carriers do not represent a "huge strategic change" in the industry, compared to the consolidation of seven hub and spoke airlines.
