Scoot Selects Trent 1000 for Boeing 787 Aircraft

Scoot has today selected the Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 engine to power its 20 Boeing 787s which will be delivered from late 2014.

The engine was selected from among two competing models available for the aircraft, following a detailed evaluation of offers.

The deal includes a TotalCare services package, under which Rolls-Royce will be responsible for the provision of maintenance, repair and overhaul for the engines, as well as for spare engine support.

Scoot's network now comprises 10 cities including Singapore, Sydney, Gold Coast, Bangkok, Taipei, Tokyo, Tianjin, Qingdao, Shenyang and Nanjing, with Seoul commencing next week. In conjunction with four partner airlines, Scoot offers 36 more cities for sale, bringing the total number to 47.
