From January to March 2013: Avianca Holdings transported nearly six million passengers

  • In the first three months of 2013, Avianca Holdings S.A and subsidiaries recorded an 8.9% increase in passenger numbers compared to the same period in 2012.

Between January and March, the airlines affiliated with Avianca Holdings S.A carried 5,992,885 passengers, an 8.9% increase compared to January-March 2012.

In March, Avianca Holdings and subsidiaries transported 2,010,684 passengers, up 7.5% compared to March 2012. Capacity, measured in ASK's (available seat kilometers), increased 7.3% while passenger traffic, measured in RPK´s (passenger revenue per kilometer flown) increased by 7.3%. The load factor for the month was 78.2%.

Domestic markets in Colombia, Peru and Ecuador

From January through March 2013, the number of passengers transported in the domestic markets of Colombia, Peru and Ecuador was 3,447,819, up 10.7% compared to 2012. Capacity (ASK) in these markets increased 15.7% while passenger traffic (RPK) increased 13.4%. As a result the load factor was 78%.

In March, the airlines affiliated with the Holding transported a total of 1,169,174 travelers, up 9.3% compared to March 2012. Capacity (ASK) increased 16.8%, while passenger traffic (RPK) increased 12.0%. As a result the load factor was 75.2%.

International markets

From January through March 2013, the number of passengers carried on international routes was 2,545,066, up 6.7% compared to 2012. Capacity (ASK) grew 2.9% while passenger traffic (RPK) increased 6.5%. As a result the load factor was 81.6%.

In March, Avianca Holdings S.A and subsidiaries transported 841,510 passengers on international routes, up 5.1% compared to 2012. Capacity (ASK) increased 5% while passenger traffic (RPK) grew 6.1%. The load factor climbed to 79%.
