Cédric Pastour joins Aigle Azur

16-May-2013 The French airline Aigle Azur today announced the nomination of Cédric Pastour as General Manager, under the direct supervision of Aigle Azur's Chairman, Arezki Idjerouidene.

Meziane Idjerouidene is in charge of developing the activities of the GoFast Group.

" A new dynamic must be introduced in order to meet the economic and competitive challenges confronting Aigle Azur. While remaining Chairman of Aigle Azur, I hope that our airline can adopt reforms e nabling us to improve our performance objectives and thus achieve future developments. I have thus decided to strengthen our organisation by appointing a recognised professional in the French air transport sector, Cédric Pastour, as General Manager", decla red Arezki Idjerouidene .

Cédric Pastour stated: "I am proud to join the large Aigle Azur family and be able to contribute to the future developments of this magnificent airline . I have deep respect for Arezki Idjerouidene as he has fought hard to build, y ear after year and with unfailing determination, an airline that is now a prominent part of the aviation landscape. "

Cédric Pastour , 48, is passionate about aviation and has spent nearly his entire professional career in th e industry . He began his career in 1988 in the sales department at Air Liberté. In 1995, he founded Star Airlines (now XL Airways) which he managed for ten years. I t was under his leadership that Star Airlines began operating long - haul flights and started its transformation towards sched uled flights activity. In late 2010, he was appointed Chairman and CEO of the Polynesian airline Air Tahiti Nui. His tenure was cut short to only a year following changes in the Polynesian executive leadership. Cédric Pastour also presided over the FNAM ( French National Federation of Commercial Aviation) from 2000 to 2003.
