Central Mindanao Airport is currently under construction with a project budget of USD3.7 million. The airport is designed to provide a capacity of 3.5 million passengers annually.
Oct-2020. Mindanao Development Authority assistant secretary Romeo Montenegro reported the PHP92 million (USD1.9 million) construction of a taxiway and apron expansion for Central Mindanao Airport is 26.6% complete. Mr Montenegro added the airport would be operational before 2022.
In 2019 National Budget, PHP92 million (USD1.72 million) was allocated to the Central Mindanao Airport development.
The PHP154.5 million (USD3.7 million) Central Mindanao project is designed to provide capacity of 3.5 million passengers p/a. The money will be used for the development of an access point to Central Mindanao via North Cotabato through the Central Mindanao Airport. The airport will help facilitate the transport of high-value crops in and out of the region, as well as support agricultural development in the area.
