Belair Airlines operated scheduled passenger service from its hub at Zurich on behalf of airberlin and ad hoc charters for third parties. It was established and began operations in 2001. airberlin Group shut down Belair Airlines as part of its group restructuring programme. Belair operated services from Zurich using four A321 aircraft until it ceased on 28-Oct-2017. These aircraft were transferred to NIKI.

SBC took over Belair Airlines from Air Berlin PLC on 15-Jan-2018. The Duesseldorf based investment company planned to relaunch the carrier. Belair Airlines declared insolvency as of 15-Aug-2018.
