THAI Withdraws Services to Nakhon Si Thammarat and Trang

Analysis

Thai Airways International Public Company Limited will withdraw its flight on the routes Bangkok - Nakhon Si Thammarat from 26 March 2006 onwards and Bangkok - Trang from 1 May 2006 onwards.

The Bangkok - Nakhon Si Thammarat route will be operated by Nok Air where THAI will accommodate the route as code sharing cooperation to support tourism traffic.

Mr. Somchainuk Engtrakul, THAI's Member Acting as President, said that currently, THAI operates one daily evening flights from Bangkok to Nakhon Si Thammarat and will withdraw service from 26 March 2006 onwards. As for Trang, THAI will terminate the operation from 1 May 2006 onwards. THAI has cooperated code share flights with Nok Air for the two destinations considering the low-cost airline's potential service and increased numbers of passengers. However, due to the high operation cost, THAI will withdraw the services to both destinations where Nok Air will operate flights to Nakhon Si Thammarat with the same flight schedule as THAI's service.
