Qatar Airways joins the ultra long-haul club

At a time when some carriers are getting out of ultra long-haul operations, like Thai Airways, another Middle East airline, Qatar Airways, has joined the club. The Doha-based airline took delivery of its first B777-200LR in early Feb-08. The aircraft will be deployed on daily non-stop Doha-Houston service, to be launched on 30-Mar-09 - a 17-hour sector - and is configured with 259 seats (42 Business and 217 Economy seats).
