Paris next on Emirates’ A380 destination list

Premium Analysis

After redeploying A380 equipment from the Dubai-New York route to Bangkok and Toronto at the beginning of Jul-2009, Emirates now plans to add A380 services to Paris. The Dubai-based carrier will deploy the aircraft on one of its two daily frequencies to Paris from 01-Jul-2010, replacing B777 equipment. Emirates will be facing direct competition from Air France on the route, which also operates 12 times weekly Paris-Dubai service. Emirates already accounts for approximately 63.5% of capacity between Dubai and Paris, with just under 5,000 seats per week. Deploying the A380 to Paris will only increase its dominance.
