Kenya Airways takes delivery of first E190 AR, from Jetscape

Analysis

Kenya Airways has taken delivery of its first E190 Advanced Range (AR) aircraft, from Jetscape, as part of a continuing programme to enlarge and modernise its fleet. The aircraft is powered by General Electric CF34 engines and joins a fleet of five E170s in operation. The carrier has one more Embraer 190-AR to be delivered by Jetscape Inc.

A spokeswoman stated: "The new Embraer is critical to the airline's regional route expansion process, because it serves the medium to long-range African destinations." Offering 12 business-class seats, the aircraft will be deployed on routes to Lusaka, Kigali, Bujumbura and Maputo.
