Jetstar Asia moves to become more independent from Australian counterpart

Premium Analysis

Singapore based Jetstar Asia has severed some of its ties with its Australian counterpart, Jetstar Australia, as part of moves to become more independent. It reverses previous moves to integrate its operations more closely with the Australian Jetstar, following start-up losses at the Singapore offshoot. The LCC will however, still be controlled by Qantas, due to its 45% ownership of Jetstar Asia's parent, Orangestar Investment Holdings.
