India airport operators continue downward trend, Beijing handles 73.9 million

Shares in Indian airport operators slipped in early trading this week, with GVK Infrastructure dropping 3.2% and GMR Infrastructure down 3.1%. Mumbai Airport, operated by a GVK-led consortium, signed an agreement with UK-based NATS this week, to help resolve congestion problems at the airport and increase operational efficiency.

Elsewhere, Beijing Capital Airport reported passenger traffic rose 13.1% in 2010 to 73.9 million. Aircraft movements increased to 517,580 for the year up 6%. Shares in Beijing Airport dipped 1.7% on Monday, while Shanghai International Airport dropped 3%. Xiamen Airport lost 1.5%.
