Hyderabad Airport lifts-off, Bengaluru soon

The new Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamshabad (30kms from Hyderabad), commenced commercial operations on Sunday, with the arrival of a Lufthansa service from Frankfurt. That the German carrier was the first to use the airport is fitting, given the massive increase in services by foreign airlines to India in recent years, particularly to destinations other than Delhi or Mumbai.
