Hong Kong's Cathay Pacific July passenger traffic 2.10 mln, up 2.8 pct yr-on-yr

Hong Kong (XFN-ASIA) - Cathay Pacific Airways Ltd said it and

unit Dragonair carried a combined 2.10 mln passengers in July, up 2.8 pct from

the same month last year.

Passenger load factor was up 1.1 pct point at 84.6 pct during the month, while capacity, measured in terms of available seat kilometers, rose by just 0.8 pct over the year-earlier period, the airline said in a statement.

The two airlines carried a total of 132,947 tons of cargo in July, a rise of 4.1 pct from a year earlier, while its cargo load factor dropped by 3.1 percentage points to 66.1 pct.

In the seven months to July, Cathay Pacific and Dragonair carried a total of 13.06 mln passengers, up 1.6 pct from a year earlier.

Tonnage in the January-July period was up by 0.2 pct at 890,500 tons from the same period last year, the airline said.
